Faith Aubuchon

Some good qualities about me is that I’m very well rounded. I’ve been there for so long and have done production, dance, syncro, and freestyle so i can bring an opinion for everyone. I did skating school and went all the way from pre alpha to freestyle six. With how long I’ve been at SDIA I’ve gotten to know all the coaches and they know me. I’m also good at communicating around the rink. With the amount of people i know at the rink i can comunicate our ideas to everyone at the rink.

Aria Chan

With my past experiences from teaching cello to elementary and middle school students for 4 years, and organizing events in a Taiwanese Student Ambassador Program, I am resilient, organized, and experienced in teamwork. I am capable of working with my teammates around me, and open towards any opportunity for growth. In the student ambassador program, I’ve reached out to different communities, organized detailed schedules, and have made promotion flyers and videos for a recruitment event. This allows me to apply the same skills to the Jr. board, where I can help run social media and promote the figure skating community, while reaching out to others to ensure duties are performed smoothly and documents are well recorded and sent. I hope to pursue a goal of helping benefit and encourage a good skating community for everyone to enjoy.

Syrine Chbihi

I have been skating for 13 years and joined SDFSC four years ago. Since becoming part of this community, I’ve loved being involved, giving back, and creating meaningful experiences for others. I believe strong leadership starts with showing up, staying involved, and being someone others can rely on. I take pride in being organized, dependable, proactive, and bringing positive energy to everything I do.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as Junior Board Webmaster for two years and Vice President of Communications this past year. Beyond these roles, I’ve spent countless hours volunteering, attended the majority of Junior Board events, and created/lead several activities and events that brought our skating community together.

I’m also a Junior Coach, working with younger skaters through group classes, off-ice training, and one-on-one lessons. Outside of the rink, I founded my school’s Figure Skating Club and have served as President for the past three years, leading weekly meetings, fundraisers, and activities that bring together skaters and students interested in the sport.

Throughout the upcoming school year, I will be highly committed and actively involved in supporting the Junior Board and its responsibilities. If elected President, I will bring energy, dedication, strong communication, and active leadership while helping create an environment where everyone feels included, heard, and excited to be involved.

I bring responsibility, creativity, and a strong desire to contribute to the Jr. Board. I am dependable, extremely organized, and able to work well with not just familiar faces but also with new people. I have knew ideas and a positive outlook that I think the group can greatly benefit from. I enjoy helping the community and raising money for the rink. I would bring enthusiasm, good communication skills, and a genuine desire to support the board’s goals and make a meaningful impact.

Mari Larsson

I’ve been a part of Jr. Board and have shadowed the VP of Communications for over 2 years. During these years, I’ve led events, volunteered, and taken meeting notes for the club. Most notably, I planned and executed our annual winter showcase candy cane fundraiser. This initiative taught me how to coordinate projects, organize flyers, oversee deadlines, and actively promote events both online and in person.

Additionally, I held an event that honored the victims of flight 5342. Over 20 figure skaters of all ages came together to make origami pieces, such as paper cranes, as symbols of hope. These pieces were sent off to the figure skating clubs of Northern Virginia, Washington, Boston, ION, and the University of Delaware, along with a sympathetic message to help support the affected families and friends of these victims. This experience made me realize that leadership and support isn’t just an individual responsibility, but a team effort.

Outside of leading projects, I have contributed to SFSC’s Instagram account, creating 4 posts for upcoming events and holidays. From what I’ve noticed, a huge role for the VP of Communications is to design and present posts for our Instagram. My experience designing these posts give me a strong background to uphold that role in future projects and posts.

I believe that I can be a very strong addition to the Jr. board because I am honest, reliable, and I work well with others. I really enjoy helping out the skating community by volunteering, so this is the next big step. I bring leadership skills and a positive attitude. I would love to contribute ideas to the Jr. board and not only will I help the board grow, but this opportunity will help me grow as-well.

Abigail Yan

Ever since I was five years old, I have spent several hours each week on the ice. I can distinctly remember how welcomed and supported the skating community made me feel, and now I want to give back by helping other skaters feel the same way by becoming President of the Junior Board. This would be my third year on the Junior Board; I have previously been a shadow for the secretary and part of the fundraising committee. Some qualities I possess include effective communication, reliability, and fresh ideas. Additionally, being part of a synchronized skating team for the past eight years (and continuing) has helped me develop strong leadership and teamwork skills that can benefit me in leading the Junior Board. I have also learned the value of maintaining a positive attitude during challenges and the importance of unity and inclusivity for a group. If elected, I will collaborate with the other board members to plan engaging events that will keep the skating community strong and supported. I look forward to being a part of this inclusive group of people and can’t wait to put my strengths to good use. Thank you for this opportunity, and I look forward to the upcoming season.

The election ballot will be distributed at the same time as the SDFSC Annual Election, and will only be ratified for candidates who are in good standing for the 2025-2026 membership year.
